FEX Group Partners with Macquarie Group and Climate Exchange plc

FEX has partnered with Envex to deliver environmental products on FEX’s exchange traded and over-the-counter (OTC) market infrastructure.

Envex is an environmental product development and promotion company established by FEX, Macquarie Capital and Climate Exchange plc (parent company of European Climate Exchange and Chicago Climate Exchange). Envex’s role is to design environmental products that meet the needs of market participants.

Over time, climate and environmental tradable products will ultimately cover the expanding range of environmental markets, including greenhouse emissions, and renewable energy.

Envex’s initial product suite includes OTC versions of:

• Australian Emissions Allowances (AEAs)
• Certified Emissions Reduction Units (CERs)
• European Allowance (EUAs)
• Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)
• NSW Greenhouse Gas Abatement Certificates (NGACs)

FEX’s environmental OTC marketed opened in November 2008 with an initial trade of Renewable Energy Certificates.
